If there is one casino game that genuinely puts decision-making power in the player's hands, it is blackjack. Unlike slots or roulette where you simply wait on luck, in blackjack every choice you make – whether to hit, stand, double down, or split – can shift the house edge from 5% down to as low as 0.5%. That difference is significant. Over the long run, players who use the right strategy at ge33 enjoy an RTP as high as 99.5%.
At ge33, we believe Malaysian players deserve a complete and transparent blackjack experience. That is why we provide a basic strategy chart in Bahasa Melayu, accessible at any time in the game guide section. We do not hide information – instead, we encourage players to learn and play smarter. A smarter player enjoys the game longer, and that is exactly what ge33 wants for every member.
Picture this – you're back from work in KL, tired, scrolling through your phone while lying down. You open ge33, jump into a Classic Blackjack table with a RM5 minimum, and within 10 minutes you're already on your third hand. No dress code, no expensive parking, no queuing. And your long-term odds of winning are better than almost any other casino game out there – as long as you stick to the right strategy.
The goal of blackjack is simple – get a hand total closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Every player starts with two cards. Numbered cards (2–10) are worth their face value. Face cards (J, Q, K) are each worth 10. An Ace can be worth 1 or 11 – whichever is more favourable to your hand. An Ace paired with any 10-value card on your first two cards is called a "blackjack" and pays 3:2 at ge33 – meaning a RM100 bet returns RM150 in winnings.
After receiving your two cards, you have several options. Hit means requesting an additional card. Stand means sticking with your current hand. Double Down means doubling your bet and receiving exactly one more card – a strong move when your total is 9, 10, or 11 and the dealer is showing a weak card. Split can be used when you hold two cards of equal value – separate them into two independent hands, each with the original bet, and play both hands individually.
At ge33, standard blackjack rules follow a 6-deck format with the dealer standing on soft 17 (S17). Players may double down on any two initial cards. Splitting is allowed up to three times (four hands) except for Aces. Insurance is offered when the dealer's face-up card is an Ace, paying 2:1 – however, ge33 recommends players avoid the insurance bet as it increases the house edge.
Blackjack basic strategy is the mathematically optimal set of decisions for every possible player hand versus dealer card combination. It wasn't invented by guesswork – it was derived mathematically through simulations of millions of hands to find the most profitable decision on average in every possible situation. When you follow basic strategy correctly, the house edge drops to just 0.5%, meaning for every RM100 you wager, you're expected to lose only 50 cents in the long run.
Ge33 provides a complete basic strategy chart to help Malaysian players make the best decision on every hand. The chart clearly shows – based on your hand total and the dealer's upcard – whether you should hit, stand, double down, or split. Once you have it memorised, you no longer need to rely on gut feel or guesswork – every decision is grounded in proven mathematics.
A few basic strategy rules that come up most often: Always split Aces and 8s. Never split 10s. Double down on 11 when the dealer shows 2 through 10. Stand on a hard 17 or above. Hit on 8 or below regardless of the dealer's card. This isn't the full picture, but following just these core rules alone significantly cuts the house edge compared to playing without any strategy.
Multi-Hand Blackjack at ge33 lets you play up to five hands simultaneously in a single round against the same dealer. In the same amount of time, you have five chances to beat the dealer – and each hand is played independently with its own outcome. Many experienced players prefer this format as it speeds up gameplay while maximising the use of their session time.
One thing to keep in mind with multi-hand play is that each hand requires a separate bet. If you're playing five hands at RM10 each, your total stake per round is RM50. That can drain your bankroll faster than you expect if you're not careful. ge33 recommends that new players looking to try multi-hand start at lower limits first – say RM2 or RM5 per hand – so you can get a feel for the rhythm of the game without taking on too much risk.
Double Exposure Blackjack is a unique variation where both of the dealer's cards are revealed from the start – not just one. At first glance this seems to give players a huge advantage, and it genuinely does change the entire dynamic of the game. You can make far more informed decisions because you know exactly what the dealer is holding.
Ge33 does note that Double Exposure comes with compensating rules – first, a player blackjack pays only 1:1 (instead of the usual 3:2) except for certain natural blackjacks. Second, on a tie, the dealer wins in most cases except when the player holds a natural blackjack. These rule adjustments bring the RTP down slightly to 99.3% compared to Classic Blackjack. Basic strategy also changes since you can now see both of the dealer's cards – a dedicated strategy chart for Double Exposure is available in the ge33 guide section.
Many Malaysian players have basic strategy memorised yet still lose in the long run – and the main reason is rarely a flawed strategy, but poor bankroll management. ge33 reminds players that even with a 99.5% RTP, blackjack still carries a 0.5% house edge. Over a very long run, the house will still come out ahead. What you can control is how you manage your money at the table.
The most important principle: never bet more than 5% of your session bankroll on a single hand. If you sit down with RM200 for a blackjack session, each hand should not exceed RM10. This keeps you in the game for at least 20 hands even through a losing streak, giving your hands time to recover toward better results.
Ge33 also provides a daily loss limit feature that you can set within your account settings. Once you have lost the set amount in a single day, the ge33 system will automatically end your session. This is an especially useful feature for players who know they tend to "chase losses" during a negative streak.
One more tip from ge33 – set a win limit for your session too. If you came in with RM200 and you're up RM150 for a total of RM350, consider calling it quits or at least stepping down to a lower-limit table to "lock in" some of those winnings. Profits left on the table can easily become losses – it's a reality many blackjack players learn the hard way.
Refer to this chart to make the optimal decision on every hand – grounded in mathematics, not guesswork.
| Hand Total | Dealer Card 2–6 | Dealer Card 7–A |
|---|---|---|
| 8 and below | HIT | HIT |
| 9 | DOUBLE | HIT |
| 10 | DOUBLE | DOUBLE/HIT |

| 12 | STAND | HIT |
| 13–16 | STAND | HIT |
| 17 and above | STAND | STAND |
| Pair | Action | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Ace – Ace | ALWAYS SPLIT | Two chances at blackjack |
| 8 – 8 | ALWAYS SPLIT | 16 is the worst hand |
| 10 – 10 | DO NOT SPLIT | 20 is already a strong hand |
| 5 – 5 | DO NOT SPLIT | Doubling on 10 is the better play |
| 9 – 9 | SPLIT (not vs 7, 10, A) | Two 9s beats a single 18 |
| 2, 3, 7 | SPLIT vs dealer 2–7 | Dealer in a weak position |
| 4 – 4 | SPLIT vs dealer 5–6 | Option to double down after splitting |
